Gregory Johnson is the founding executive director at Code for South Florida, a non-profit tech for social impact firm who leverages a volunteer-approach to demonstrate technology for impact. He also is a partner of Digital Transformation consultancy South Public.
Gregory worked at Microsoft Philanthropies where he led Civic Innovation and Digital Transformation for local government. He helped invest $2M in philanthropic grants in the community and spearheaded smart city initiatives as the top-performer in role during FY20.
Prior to this, Gregory worked at venture-backed startups Tesser Health and PxSource as a product lead. Both organizations were purchased in acquisitions in 2016 and 2019 respectively. Before this, Gregory worked as an EIR for UHealth System / Lift1428 and with for Obama’s campaign in 2012 as a neighborhood team leader.
Gregory is a first-generation Jamican-American who graduated from Florida International University with his bachelors and focus in Finance and GIS. He currently is a Stanford University JSK Fellow where is doing work on participatory budgeting as a digital service for community.
